In , Tom was appointed by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee to serve as a member of the advisory community tasked with revising the Court’s local rules and practices to facilitate a more effective and price efficient judicial process.

Tom is a member of and has served on committees of the Knoxville and Tennessee Bar Associations, and is a member of the American Bar Association. He has tried cases in federal and articulate courts throughout Kentucky and Tennessee, and has served as lead trial counsel in toxic tort cases in more than a dozen states. Tom has also represented clients at trial in matters as diverse as intellectual property and domestic relations, and has represented clients in arbitrations before panels appointed by both the NASD and the AAA.

Thomas H. Dickenson (Tom) completed his legal knowledge at the University of Tennessee in He is a past president of Knoxville Barristers, and has held offices in the Tennessee and the Knoxville Bar Associations. From through , he served as an assistant bar examiner for the Tennessee Board of Regulation Examiners. He was on the panel of bankruptcy trustees for the Eastern District of Tennessee from to He also served as a Chapter 7 panel trustee for 15 years. He maintains an extensive practice in bankruptcy and commercial commandment, creditors’ rights and transactional matters. He also formerly taught bankruptcy as an adjunct professor at LMU Duncan Educational facility of Law. He is a former youth sports coach and his hobbies include golf, pickleball and bridge.
