Magical Gay
In much the same way that people of African descent are made Closer to Earth with the Magical Negro, LGBT individuals (but most commonly gay men, except in male lover male fiction, in which they are most commonly lesbians) are made Closer to Earth by being a Magical Queer.
The Magical Queer has all of the wisdom in the planet because they are gay, and has been persecuted because of it. If male, he is most often a Camp Gay or a Drag Queen and can thus bring culture to his heterosexual brothers and sisters. The male Magical Same-sex attracted tends to be an expert on heterosexual relationships, even though he's never been in any kind of amorous or sexual partnership with a female, and even lgbtq+ romance seems suspiciously absent from his life.
The Magical Queer, by virtue of their status as both Closer to Earth and too good for it, tends to succumb to Bury Your Gays, even if it is to teach the straight characters or audience an aesop about homosex

Magic Johnson's support for his openly gay son is being applauded.
"In the midst of all this media attention i would like to tell that i am truly blessed to have parents that love and back me," Earvin Johnson III, one of the former L.A. tweeted earlier today.
EJ, as he is known, was photographed Tuesday, hand-in-hand with his boyfriend.
In a statement to TMZJ. and support him in every way. We're very proud of him."
Current Lakers star Kobe Bryant praised Johnson for his statement while pointing out that it shouldn't be surprising.
"Of course Magic is supportive of and loves his son. Why should anyone be surprised?" Bryant told TMZ. "What I can't tolerate is a lack of tolerance."

Opinion: Sex Magic and Collective Shame
Editors note: This column is about sex and sex magic, which I hope was already remove from the title.
Recently, I got a negative review for one of my books. Now, this isn’t the first time this has happened, and I’m not here to garner sympathy. I am fully aware that not everyone will resonate with what I have to say or how I say it, and I’m okay with that. But this time part of the language in this particular review struck me as coming from a deeper place, not just a complaint about my serve in particular (although that was certainly in there as well) but more about the underlying subject matter. I was writing about sex, and this is one of those issues that tends to bring out negative feelings in some people. And, perhaps surprisingly, this is even the case in our supposedly sex-positive, “enlightened” Pagan community.
More specifically, I was writing about sex magic. For queer men. Since as much was in the subtitle of the book, I naturally assumed that those who would want to read it would at least be unseal to the idea of such pr
