The on-screen chemistry between actors John Cusack and Ione Skye in the film “Say Anything” apparently crossed over into real life.
In her new memoir, “Say Everything,” Skye dishes on what it was like to make the classic rom-com and on her relationship with Cusack.
Skye has prolonged claimed that while she and Cusack had crushes on each other while making the production, they never hooked up during production.
However, Skye admits in the book she and Cusack finally got together after her divorce from Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz.
“I had to get it out of my system,” she said in a book excerpt published in People.
Although Skye let Cusack read a draft of her memoir before it was published, she admits he wasn’t totally thrilled with her memory of their brief encounter.
“You made the experience sound so meh! It wasn’t ‘meh’ for me,” she says he told her.
Skye said she told him she was “telling a story, and it was more about how all of our chemistry was in our working together and stimulating each other’s minds, not sleeping together!”
