      A Look at Little Rock's History

      Little Rock has a long and opulent history. It was founded in when William Lewis, a trapper, built his home at the “little rock,” thus giving the area its name. When the Arkansas Territory was officially established in , the city became an important crossing and stopping point, and as travel across the country increased, the metropolis grew. As it grew, it became an important center of agriculture and industry and remains so to this day. It also became increasingly diverse and today it is a thriving, welcoming, vibrant city where all can find their place and feel at home.
