Queer Needlework Circle
with the Queer Needlework Collective
for LGBTQIA+

The Queer Needlework Circle (QNC) is a group of LGBTQIA+ textile needleworkers who meet regularly to share different techniques and work creatively together.

The group meets weekly to exchange ideas on textile crafts, and each member creates their own garments This may involve embroidery, knitting, crochet, weaving, sewing, quilting or patchwork, for example…
You can also bring along an existing project that you would fond of to work on.

At each meeting, the participants share their experiences and encourage each other in their creative process. Workshops are also organized that center on a specific technique.

The group also gets together for other moments of sharing, such as group shopping trips for the purchase of materials and inspiration.

Anyone who has an eye of a needle and identifies with LGBTQIA+ is invited to take part in our events. What happens in a circle stays in a circle. We work together to create a guarded space for ourselves and others.

  In , a relatively obscure local politician named Klaus Wowereit proudly declared: “I&#;m homosexual, and it&#;s a nice thing.” Berliners wasted no time electing him mayor, and he has been in office ever since. San Francisco may possess boys with flowers in their hair, but Berlin is arguably the most gay-friendly city.

  Mayor Wowereit, affectionately called &#;Wowi,&#; also popularized the phrase &#;poor but sexy&#; to describe this bankrupt city. So no wonder Berlin is a Cheapo heaven—even the elevated glam of gay clubs won&#;t set you help too much.
